Some of the most beautiful pets in the world walk through Miss Kitty’s doors. Miss Kitty’s grooming salon is among the top pet grooming salons in the nation. Our stylists are National Certified Master Groomers and many have competed in grooming competitions. Our highly trained staff of bathers and stylists can transform your fuzzy furball into a fashion statement or a comfortable couch potato, depending on the preference of your pet.

Pet hairstyles are as unique as the individual. Some owners want Fluffy to look like she is ready for Westminster, while others want Schnitzel to be cool and comfy for summer. Although many clients request their pets groomed to A.K.C. groom standards, many owners want something different. Our goal is to find the haircut that is right for you and your pet.

What if you don’t want your poodle to look like a poodle? That’s O.K. too. Some clients want a glamorous look, while many other clients choose alternative haircuts for their pets. Sometimes owners just want something simple and hassle free. Our staff will listen to your needs and help you decide which hairstyle works with your lifestyle.

Looking good is not our only concern. It is also important that your pet come home from his or her day at the salon happy and relaxed. The grooming room has large windows from the lobby where the stylists can be observed while working. Our grooming room is set up to allow pets some playtime on the floor, where the pets can stretch their legs and see other pets being groomed. All pets are also walked.

BOARDING HOTEL FOR SMALLER DOGS

We discovered that pets, like children, are much more relaxed if they are in a social environment. A cheerful room, plenty of fresh air and sunshine, and most importantly, frequent human affection is the recipe for a happy, healthy, relaxed boarding experience for your pet. At Miss Kitty’s, all hotel guests socialize and play outside 5 times per day, everyday!

Miss Kitty’s pet hotel offers a gentle, loving boarding alternative for smaller pets. The hotel was designed specifically for pets who don’t do well in traditional kennels.

Our hotel was built first and foremost for the love of pets. We want to provide whatever is necessary to make your pet’s visit as comfortable and relaxed as possible. If this means your pet needs special food, medications or “in your lap” time, we are there to make your pet feel loved. We believe that all pets need several outside social playtimes each day when away from home to keep their spirits up, maintain good potty habits and keep a healthy appetite. We can’t imagine withholding exercise, social time or medication from a pet in need, simply because the owner did not purchase that service. Therefore, at Miss Kitty’s, we are all inclusive so that all pets get what they deserve!

The hotel at Miss Kitty’s is designed with several different wings in order to group the pets by size and playfulness. That way, when the pets go out to play they are compatible. Even pets “who don’t know they are dogs” do well when grouped together, because they follow the same code of non-doggy behavior.

Each pet has his or her own room with linoleum floors, a window at eye level, and music. Each pet goes out five times a day in a large grassy play yard, with trees. The outside playtimes begin each morning at 7:00 AM and continue at regular intervals throughout the day until the last playtime at 10:00 PM. The pets are tucked into their beds and given bedtime cookies at about 11:00 PM, and then it is lights out until the next morning. Pets thrive on the familiar schedule, and even the biggest couch potatoes enjoy the activity of going outside.

Pets find the familiar homelike materials of linoleum floors, cloth curtains, and ceramic crocks comforting to their senses and more like home. In fact, many of Miss Kitty’s hotel guests happily consider us their home away from home.

DOGGIE DAY CARE FOR SMALLER DOGS

Miss Kitty’s Daycare is open from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM Monday through Friday. Daycare charges are for a full day regardless of when you drop off or pick up your pet.

Our daycare nanny spends the day with the pets. The nanny’s sole job is to keep the guests happy and entertained. The nanny plays with the pets indoors and supervises their interactions with each other. When pets become bored indoors, they go out for walks around the property to run, stretch and exercise.

Many of our daycare guests come on a part-time basis; therefore the interpersonal dynamics of the group change daily. Like children on a playground, occasionally a pet will get overly excited and must go into “Time Out”. We have pet crates in the day care room for just that purpose. This is not a punishment for the pet, but a safe place for a few minutes of quiet time without the physical stimulation of the other pets. A pet can usually be reentered into the group within just a few minutes and all is well again.

Rain or shine, we feel that it is important for the pets to get outside time for their health and happiness. We keep them as clean as possible; however, in less than perfect weather your pet might get muddy or bring home a blade of grass or two. This is assurance that your pet is truly getting to play outside with other pets, and is having fun. In rare instances your pet may get a scratch or bump from strenuous play, just like children on a playground.

All new day care pets go through a 5-visit evaluation period. This allows an opportunity to determine if the new pet can integrate into the social group. Like people, some pets are shy at first; when they become more comfortable their behavior changes. This is why some pets may play well on the first few visits, and then become unsuitable for our group. A daycare pet that exhibits unruly or intimidating behavior toward the other pets will not be allowed to continue to come and play. All male dogs attending our daycare must be neutered.

If it is determined that your pet is not a good fit for our daycare, please don’t be dismayed as our daycare is very specialized. We can recommend several other options for your daycare needs. We would still love to offer you our grooming and boarding services. Pets that are too high-energy for daycare are generally wonderful boarding guests in our hotel, as the physical contact during playtimes is for shorter periods of time.

Many clients first see our bakery and think our beautiful cookies are for people. We could serve them to people, as our treats are human quality (if not better) and we’ve tasted every delicious one of them! However, we save them for our four legged friends.

Besides being beautiful, our treats are full of wholesome goodness, especially baked with the pet’s nutritional needs in mind. Only the best ingredients are chosen and used, such as whole wheat flour, eggs, carob, peanut butter, honey, cheese and other natural ingredients. Many of our treats are designed with the smaller pet in mind, making them easier to break and crunch. Several of our delicious cookies are our own special secret recipes. Miss Kitty’s Pitter Pats have been our top seller for 16 years. Their wafer-like goodness will cause your pet’s feet to pitter pat each time you open the bag!

We also keep a variety of bones and chewy items for both the large and the smaller canine customer. Pizzles and pig ears are always in stock.

Birthday cakes baked for your pet are always a popular item. Our delicious cakes are baked with the finest ingredients, such as whole wheat flour, eggs, honey, carrots, raisins, and are topped with a liver pate icing. Please allow advance time for us to bake your cake especially for your pet.
